Founded in 2003 and held in Assos for the past four years, the Halit Turgay Flute Summer School brings together music, nature, learning, and the spirit of a summer holiday in a unique programme.
Open to flutists of all ages and levels, the programme offers individual flute lessons with Halit Turgay and Ece Selin Yüksel, alongside flute ensemble sessions, body-awareness workshops, talks, and concert experience, supporting each participant’s musical development from different perspectives.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the Summer School is its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Beyond the lessons, participants share experiences, make music together, form new friendships, and become part of a community of flutists from different ages and musical backgrounds.
The extraordinary surroundings of Assos are an essential part of the experience. Daily time by the sea, visits to the Temple of Athena and the old Assos bazaar, the natural and historical beauty of the Northern Aegean, and a cuisine inspired by the local produce of Çanakkale all complement the intensive musical programme.
