Composer

As a composer Turgay especially with the work he dedicated to various regions of Turkey and Turkish culture it has contributed significantly to the repertoire. Composer, Turkey’s history of each of the works he composed with issues involving culture and reflections from the archaeological tissue. The artist performed the first voices of the Turkish Jazz Jazz Suite and My Name Istanbul, which he composed in 2012 and 2015, with his own group at Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center / İzmir and released the album of these works.

 

In 2013, he performed the first voiceover of his trio named Halikarnas, which he composed for flute, viola and harp and dedicated to writer Cevat Şakir Kabaağaçlı as part of the International Turgutreis Classical Music Festival.

 

In 2014, he received the second prize for his work composed for the Mosaic of Three Beauties in the National Composition Competition organized within the scope of the International Mersin Music Festival. Also in 2014, he performed the first performance of his work named Baroque and Oriental in the concert he gave at Süreyya Opera as part of the London Chamber Orchestra and International Istanbul Music Festival.

 

In 2015, he composed the Mersin Flute Concerto, the first concerto of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality with the order and support, and made the album of the work. It has made history as the first Turkish flute concerto with the same composer and soloist. In 2016, the first performance of the concerto named Soloi Pompeopolis, which he composed for flute, harp and orchestra, was held in Mersin together with Merve Kocabeyler. The first voiceover of Akdeniz Trio he composed in the same year was made by his students, and this work that was played won the students second prize in the competition.

 

In 2017, the composer composed a song called Troy for solo viola to be included in the album of viola artist and musician Atilla Aldemir. The work has been highly appreciated by the famous and important magazine of Germany “Das Orchester”. In February 2018, Turgay performed the first voiceover of his Mediterranean Rhapsody, which he composed for flute, piano and orchestra, together with Misha Dacic in Mersin. In the same year, upon the order of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, he composed the Muğla Flute Concerto and the first performance of the work was performed in Knidos Antique City / Datça.

 

Again in 2018, the first voiceover of Turkuaz, which he composed for cello and orchestra, was made in Mersin with the comments of Münif Akalın.
